As she was growing up, Pat was blessed with private lessons and became an accomplished classical pianist – developing a God-given talent she would later use to bless others by playing the church piano.
Patsy was working as an AT&T operator when she met Leroy Kahre and they were united in marriage in 1952, in Wichita, Kansas. They moved first to Lawrence, Kansas, while LeRoy attended Kansas University, before moving to Bartlesville where both husband and wife worked at Phillips Petroleum Co. After moving back to Bartlesville in 2000, Albert preceded her in death in 2007.
Pat loved crafts, embroidery and crosstitch and participated in the Washington County Free Fair for many years. She volunteered her time with cub scouts, girl scouts and VBS at her church. She was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. After her 2nd husband's retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the United States in a travel trailer visiting friends and family. She also loved spending time with her extended family and grandchildren and could be found attending school and church functions until her health failed.
