OBITUARY:
Scott Yonkins, 25, of Palestine, died Nov. 18 at St. Joseph's Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Parkesburg, a son of Kenneth and Donna Copen Yonkins of Palestine. He attended schools in Wirt County and was a 1987 graduate of Wirt County High School. He was employed by Wirt Inflatable Specialists Inc. of Elizabeth. He attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Palestine and his hobby was working on old car engines and had worked on many cars of friends and neighbors.
He is survived by one brother, Steven Yonkins of St. Marys; one sister, Lynette Hunt of Palestine; paternal grandmother, Mary (Copngelton) Yonkins of Palestine; and maternal grandmother, Alda Fluharty Copen of Elizabeth.
Services were Nov. 21 at the Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. David Morris officiating. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery, Thorn Addition.
