OBITUARY:
Mrs. Windland Services To Be Held Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph I. Windland, 20, of 4406 11th Av., Parkersburg, who drowned in Tebay's Lake at Lubeck Monday evening while with her husband, will be held at the Big Island Run Baptist church in Wirt county, with the Rev.Orville G. Cunningham officiating at 2 p.m. Thursday.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Franklin funeral home until time of services.
Mrs. Windland, who could not swim, waded out into the lake to join her husband in response to his call and when she had only gone a short distance apparently stepped from a ledge into water about 10 feet deep. She was brought to shore about 25 minutes after she submerged, by William Clark and Wayne Caplinger, but efforts to revive her by artificial respiration and the use of oxygen were to no avail. She was pronounced dead by a doctor who arrived at the scene.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Mr.and Mrs. Clarence L. Bell of Elizabeth; four sisters, Mrs. Madeline Weaver of Rt. 4, who with her husband, Richard, an employee of the Tebay Dairy, accompanied the Windlands to the lake; Mrs. Alice Short of Parkersburg, Mrs. Fern Nutter of Baltimore and Mrs. Fay Miller of Akron, O.
