W. Lansing, Mr. Cowan entered into business for himself and four years from March 26th. last started the stationery and news store on Brinkerhoff street which he conducted with good success.

He had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for twenty-five years.
Mr. Cowan was well known as an honest and upright man.  Though a great sufferer for some time, he bore his illness with fortitude and was prepared for the end retaining a clear mind to the last.  He had many friends in this section and the bereaved family will have the sincere sympathy of the community.
The funeral will be held on Sunday; the exact hour and arrangements will be announced later.
