Rufus Patnode
 ELLENBURG DEPOT – Funeral services for Rufus H. Patnode, 81, who died at his home here Sunday after a long illness, will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg.  
  Patnode, a retired carpenter, was born in Churubusco July 20, 1882, the son of John and Jane (Hawksby) Patnode.
 He had lived in Ellenburg for 45 years.
 He is survived by his wife, the former Jennie Barcomb; six sons, Raymond of Pittsburgh, Floyd of Massena, Francis of Ellenburg, Walter of Syracuse, Gerald of Baltimore, Md., and William of Hayward, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Roxie Sweeney of Big Sur, Calif., Mrs. Irene Hodlin of Massena and Mrs. Harold (Madora) LaBombard of Massena; a brother, John of Pittsfield, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Dayton Hutchins of Ellenburg Center.
 The body is at the Drown Funeral Home where calling hours, are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
 Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ellenburg Center.

OBITUARY:
 Francis Patnode, 60, died July 11, 1970 at the C.V. Unite of the Medical Center.
 He had served as elemntary principal of Ellenburg Central School until retirement two years ago.
 He was born in Ellenburg on March 27, 1910 the son of Rufus and Jenny Patnode.
 Survivors include his mother; three sisters, Irene Hodlin, Mrs. Harold (Madora) LaBombard of Massena and Roxie Sweeney of Big Sur, Calif.; and three brothers, Walter of Syracuse, Gerald of Baltimore, Md. and William of Hayward, Calif.
 Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg.
 Burial was held in Riverside Cemetery, Ellenburg Center.

 MASSENA – Barbara E. Catanzarite, 82, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family.
 Barbara was born October 6, 1940, in Ellenburg, NY, the daughter of the late Orville and Irene (Patnode) Hodlin. She attended school at Holy Family and later married Edward Monroe. The marriage later ended in divorce. Barbara later married Antonio Catanzarite on September 23, 1984, in Fort Covington. He later predeceased her on March 23, 2000. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
 Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Gary) Jones of Massena; three grandchildren, Krista Beattie, Cody McArdle, and Alicia Larue; three great-grandchildren, Landen Larue, Gavin Moore, and Malania Beattie; a sister, Lynda Burns of Massena as well as several nieces and nephews.
 She was predeceased by a daughter, Marilyn Frey, on March 15, 2010, and a sister, Catherine Hodlin.
 Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Massena. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

ANTONIO CATANZARITE ALCOA RETIREE
Watertown Daily Times (NY) - Saturday, March 25, 2000
 Antonio Catanzarite, 73, of 2 Madison Ave., died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Massena Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted March 12. He had been in failing for the past five years.
 Mr. Catanzarite was a laborer at Aluminum Company of America, retiring in 1986 after 42 years of service.
 He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club; Knights of Columbus, St. Lawrence Council 1141; Moose Lodge 1110; Earl J. Santimaw Post 1143, Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion Post 79; Amvets Gerald Roy Post 4 and Disabled American Veterans. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
 He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and working at various Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge functions. He was a charter member of Massena Rescue Squad and, during the 1970s, was a Boy Scout leader.
 Born March 24, 1926, in Massena, son of Dominick and Catherine Romeo Catanzarite, he attended Massena schools and in December 1978 received a high school diploma in Canton.
 He served in the Army from 1949 to 1953 with the 7th Infantry Division, Company 1, 32nd Division, and was active for 35 years with the Army Reserve at Massena as a staff sergeant and a cook. He was wounded April 23, 1951, at Hill 610 in Korea and received several medals.
 He married Barbara Hodlin Monroe on Sept. 23, 1984, at Fort Covington with Justice Jerome Brockway officiating. Their marriage was blessed April 6, 1995, by the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux.
 Surviving besides his wife are two stepdaughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Jay Frey, Montgomery, Pa., and Lisa and Kevin Euto, Massena; three sisters, Mrs. Cameron (Phoebe) Gauthier, Canton, Mrs. Leon (Lucia) Johnson, Massena, and Mrs. Lyle (Frances) Robson, Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, Frank, Massena, and Theodore, Providence, R.I.; three stepgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews, an aunt, cousins, a great-niece and a great-nephew.
 A brother, Joseph, died in 1929.
 A memorial service will be at noon April 1 at Donaldson Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
 Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon April 1 at the funeral home.
