Melvin Calder WATSON

OBITUARY:
Melvin C. Watson
 Melvin C. Watson, 84 a resident of the West Lafayette Rehabilitation and Nusing center, formerly of Port Washington (Glasgow), died on Thursday evening, March 16 in the West Lafayette Care Center.
 Melvin was born in Wirt County, West Virginia, on Sept 29, 1915, a son of the late Arzy and Marjorie Barker Watson.
 He was a kiln fireman for several years at the Larson Clay Co. at Uhrichsville before his retirement in 1987. Prior to that he was an employee of Belden Brick at Port Washington for several years. He also a pipe fitter for the former James B. Clow Co., at Newcomerstown for a few years and a filemaker at the former Heller Brothers Topol Co. at Newcomerstown for a few years.
 Melvin was a member of the North Salem Community Churc, Guernsey County and the Guernsey County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing as his favorite recreational activities.
In addition to hes parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma M. Goff Watson who died on Jan. 25, 1990, and whom he married on May 18, 1936.
 Also deceased are a son Melvin Watson Jr., of Wirt County, West Virginia; three grandchildrn and several brothers and sisters, including Owen C. Watson and Jessie Watson of Port Washington, Albert Watson of Cambridge, Anna Mae Watson and Harold "Bud Watson of Newcomerstown and Andrew Watson and Sylvia Stull of West Virginia.
 He is survived by three sons and three daughters; _____.
 There are also 13 grandchildren andd 18 great-grandchildren, and three brothers and three sisters  _____
 Graveside services and burial will be held on Monday. March 20 at 2 p.m. in the North Salem Community Cemetery, Guernsey County. Rev. Bob Heeger will conduct the service.

Zelma M. Goff Watson
 PORT WASHINGTON- Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 in North Salem Community Cemetery in Guernsey County for Mrs. Melvin C. (Zelma M.) Watson, 74 , of RD 1.
 Rev. Phillip M Baker will officiate. Calling hours are today from 3 to 6 in Ourant Funeral Home at Newcomerstown.
 She died Thursday after a long illness. Born in Wirt County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Lillie Brown Goff. She was a member of North Salem Community Church.
 Surviving are her husband whom she married May 18, 1935; three sons and three daughters. Two brothers and a sister; Lawrence "Oak" Goff of California, Robert Goff of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Phillip (Elouise) Calebaugh of RD 2, Elizabeth, W. Va.; 13 grandchldren and nine great-grandchildren.
 A son and for brothers and three grandchildrn are deceased.

OBITUARY:
 Marion St. Andrews, formerly of North State Street, died Sunday at Community-General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
 Mrs. St. Andrews lived in Syracuse for most of her life. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1958.
 She is survived by four sons, Edward Sr. of Johnstown, Adolphis and Dewey, both of Schenectady, and Ralph; two daughters, Mary Douglas of Minoa and Dorothy of Fayetteville; two sisters, Catherine and Effie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Welter-Price Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (March 5).

OBITUARY:
MRS. KATHERINE HODLIN - Mrs. Katherine McHale Hodlin, 69, of Windsorville Road, Broad Brook, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital. Born in County Mayo, Ireland, she lived in Broad Brook most of her life.  She leaves a son, Douglas P. Hodlin Jr. of Hartford; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Scwartz and Mrs. Patricia Loos, both of Broad Brook, and Mrs. Ann Fiume of Windsor Locks; three brothers. John McHale and
James McHale, both of England, and Martin McHale of Boston; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Doyle and Mrs. Helen Brennan, both of Boston, eight grandchildren and a great-grandson. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford, with a Requiem High Mass at St. Catherine's Church, Broad Brook, at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Broad Brook.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Kathryn M. Robert
 NORTH TONAWANDA - Kathryn M. Robert, 78, of 207 Edward St., died Feb. 12 1987, at DeGraffe Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda.
 She was born May 25, 1908, in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of Orville and Margaret (Nichols) Hodlin.  She was married to Arthur Robert, who died in 1984.
 Mrs. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church.
 Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Sabin of Sanborn; two sons, Arthur Robert of Abingdon, Va., and Theodore Robert of North Tonawanda; a sister, Effie Aubrey of Champlain, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
 A funeral service was held Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Watengel Funeral Home with the Rev. Woodrow McCaleb officiating.
 Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 530 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, N.Y. 14120.

 NORTH TONAWANDA - Kathryn M. (Hodlin) Robert, 78, of Edward St., died Thursday (Feb. 12 1987) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
 Mrs. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Tonawanda.
 She was the widow of the late Arthur Robert.
 Surviving are sons, Arthur Robert of Abingdon, Va., and Theodore Robert of North Tonawanda; a daughter, Mrs. Mathew (Evelyn) Sabin of Sanborn; a sister, Effie Aubrey of Champlain, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday a the Wattengel Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St., where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday.  The Rev. Woodrow McCaleb will officiate.  Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.  Contributions to the First Baptist Church are acceptable as tribute.

DEATH:
Pvt. Hodlin Killed In Action In Holland
 Pvt. Orville N. Hodlin, 27, formerly of Champlain, was killed in action in Holland on October 19th, according to a telegram received by his wife last week from the War Department.  Other details have not yet been made available.  Pvt. Hodlin was born in Worcester, Mass. and is a son of Margaret Hodlin (now Mrs. John Dragoon), of Plattsburg, and the late Orville D. Hodlin.  Mrs. Edison aubrey, of Champlain, is a sister.
 Pvt. Hodlin was inducted into the service on Jan 25, 1944, and received his basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla.  He went overseas to England with his unit late in July and was sent to France later seeing action with the American forces invading Holland.  He had seen action in France, Belgium and Holland.
 Pvt. Hodlin attended school at Champlain and Ellenburg, and later was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp.  Surviving besides his wife and mother are three daughters: Catherine, 8, Barbara, 4, and Linda, who is six months old.

Mrs. Irene Hodlin
 MASEENA - Mrs. Irene Patnode Hodlin, 58, of 8 Burney Ave., the widow of the late Orville Hodlin, died Aug. 1 at the Highland Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for several months.
 She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Catherine) Guyette, Mrs. Barbara Monroe, Mrs. David (Linda) Glickman; her mother, Mrs. Jennie Patnode of Ellenburg; seven grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers.
 Funeral services were held Saturday at Sacred Heart Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
