OBITUARY:
 Ray Andrew Deem, 92, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on July 26, 2013, at Camden-Clark Medical Center.
 He was born June 14, 1921, in Eatons, W.Va., a son of the late Elliot and Nora Joy Deem.
 In August 1942, Ray headed off to World War II where he served with distinction. He received several battle ribbons after serving in England, France, Germany and Belgium. Ray fought in the Battle of the Bulge during the winter of 1944-45. He returned from war on Dec. 7, 1945, and he and Ruth were married seven days later in Akron, Ohio. He retired from Monongahela Power Company with 37 years of service.
 Known by family and friends alike as a hard worker, he enjoyed spending time and taking care of the family's cattle at his farm at Goose Creek. He was an avid coon hunter and fox hunter and was known to all who had the privilege to meet him as a "Master Storyteller." He wa a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
 He is survived by two sons, David Deem (Fran) and the Rev. Daniel Deem (Judy), both of Parkersburg; four daughters, Darlene Willis (Gary) of Waker, W.Va., Carolyn Jacobson (Terry) of Parkersburg, Marilyn Wine (John) of Walker, and Debbie Fouse (Charlie) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Zora Boston of Washington, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. Deem; two sons, Dale and Darrell "Hoppy" Deem; five brothers, Harold, Floyd, Roy, Ed and Clifford; and one sister, Mabel Rollyson.
 Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Keith Hostutler officiating. Interment will follow at Deem-Wilson Cemetery, Walker, W.Va., with full military rites by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ruth Louise REESE

OBITUARY:
 Ruth Louise Deem, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 25, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg.
 She was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Deerwalk, a daughter of the late Ralph Parker and Helen Shaffer Reese. Ruth was a homemaker and formerly worked at Johns Manville in Vienna. She was a member of The First Church of The Nazarene in Parkersburg. Ruth loved and was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and watching the birds.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Darrell Deem; four sisters, Ethel Reese, Mildred Goldsmith, Thelma McCaleb and Opal Reese; one half-sister, Jackie Morehead; a brother, Lewis (Dick) Reese; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Reese.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Deem will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Keith Hostutler officiating. Burial will follow in the Deem-Wilson Cemetery at Goose Creek. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

David R. DEEM

OBITUARY:
 David R. Deem, 70, of Parkersburg, passed Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
 He was born October 6, 1946, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Ray A. and Ruth L. Reese Deem.
 Dave graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1964. Following graduation he joined the U.S Air Force where he served for four years. After serving his country he worked for Monongahela Power Company. He was a car salesman for 31 years at various local dealerships. Dave owned and operated Deem Sales & Service. He was an active member of Cairo Lodge #114 A.F&A.M. He was a thirty second degree Scottish Rite Mason. A member of the Jerusalem Charge of Royal Arch Masons #3, The Calvary Commandry #3 Knights Templar, Nemesis Shrine Temple Legion of Honor, Ben Bey Grotto. American Legion Post 15, and attended First Church of The Nazarene in Parkersburg.
  He is survived by his wife of fifty- one years, Frances Kellar Deem; two daughters, Lora Rice of Milton, WV, and Bethany Steele (David) of Cutler, OH; three grandchildren, Jacob Rice, Jared Rice, and Avery Steele; one great-grandson, Jacob Charles Rice; four sisters, Darlene Willis (Gary) of Walker, WV, Carolyn Jacobson (Terry) of Parkersburg, Marilyn Wine (John) of Walker, WV and Debbie Fouse (Charlie) of Myrtle Beach, SC. and several nieces and nephews.
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Danny, Dale, and Darrell Deem.
 Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, officiated by Pastor Keith Hostutler, with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg.
 Interment will follow at the Deem Family Cemetery, on Goose Creek, Walker, WV, with Masonic services conducted by Cairo Lodge #114 A.F.& A.M.
 Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Daniel A. DEEM

OBITUARY:
 Rev. Daniel A. Deem, 68 of Parkersburg passed away Sept. 16, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
 Danny was the son of the late Ray A. and Ruth L. Reese Deem of Parkersburg. He was a 1966 graduate of PHS and a 1970 graduate of Washing Bible College with a Bachelors degree in Biblical Education. He received a Master of Divinity degree from METHESCO in 1978. He served God as a United Methodist minister for 32 years.
 Other than theology, Dan loved to garden, deer hunt and spend time on his family farm in Goose Creek. He was a wonderful husband and loving father. As he got older his favorite time was spent with his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Dale Deem and brother, Darrell "Hoppy" (Terry) Deem.
 He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy (Utt) Deem; his two daughters, Krista (Wes) Erwin, and Keri (Craig) Straight; and his grandchildren, Aubrey Erwin, Noah Straight and Lorelei Erwin. He is also survived by a brother, David (Fran) Deem; sisters, Darlene (Gary) Willis, Carolyn (Terry) Jacobsen, Marilyn (John) Wine and Debra (Charlie) Fouse; and many nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg with Pastor Randy Dornon, Dr. Todd Hill and Pastor Rick Kapple officiating. Burial will follow at the Big Tygart/Rockport Cemetery in Mineral Wells.

 Patsy C. Kahre, 82, of Bartlesville, went home to the Lord Thursday evening.
 Patsy (Pat) Charlotte Kahre was born Aug. 13, 1931, to John Joy and Hazel Joy. She was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, and attended Wichita High School East graduating in 1949. As she was growing up, Pat was blessed with private lessons and became an accomplished classical pianist – developing a God-given talent she would later use to bless others by playing the church piano.
 Patsy was working as an AT&T operator when she met Leroy Kahre and they were united in marriage in 1952, in Wichita, Kansas. They moved first to Lawrence, Kansas, while LeRoy attended Kansas University, before moving to Bartlesville where both husband and wife worked at Phillips Petroleum Co. Pat worked as a switchboard operator at Phillips, part-time secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church while raising her two children and as an Activity Director at local nursing centers. LeRoy preceded her in death on December 26th, 1977. In 1982, she remarried Leroy's brother Albert who also had lost his first wife of many years. The new couple enjoyed 25 years of marriage. Albert worked for Boeing and she moved back to Wichita, then Seattle and ended up living at Lake Keystone for many years. While living in at Lake Keystone she was active in the Garden Club. After moving back to Bartlesville in 2000, Albert preceded her in death in 2007.
 Pat loved crafts, embroidery and crosstitch and participated in the Washington County Free Fair for many years. She volunteered her time with cub scouts, girl scouts and VBS at her church. She was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. After her 2nd husband's retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the United States in a travel trailer visiting friends and family. She also loved spending time with her extended family and grandchildren and could be found attending school and church functions until her health failed.
 Pat is survived by her two children, John Christian Kahre and DeAnna of Ramona, Kaye Annette Fitz and Carl of College Station, TX, one step son Garry Kahre of Topeka, KS, four grandchildren Aaron Kahre, Rebecca Kahre, Carl Fitz, and Michael Fitz, five step grandchildren, Joe and Amber Kahre, Kristia Poppe, Alisa Kahre and Tania Kahre, many great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and one step son, Leon Kahre.
 The family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, (918-534-3030), 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Friday, September 13, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3700 SE Woodland Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Kahre will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Carter will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Family Funeral Home.
