Pliny Hodlin
 Southington, Conn. - Pliny Hodlin, 71, formerly of Champlain, died Sunday, July 29, 1984, at his home in Southington, Conn.
 He was born in Worcester, Mass., on June 29, 1913, the son of Orville and Margaret (Nickols) Hodlin.
 Mr. Hodlin retired in 1971 after 25 years with the Plainville, Conn., police department.
 He was a member of the Conecticutt Police Association, Tri-State Police Association, Plainville Police Association,and International Association for Identification.
 Survivors include two sons, Pliny Hodlin Jr. of Southington, Conn., and Paul Hodlin of Milton, Mass; three daughters, Mrs. Jane Owens of Plainville, Conn., Mrs. Joan Bruske of Rocky Hill, Conn., and Miss Lois Hodlin of Farmington, Conn.; one brother, Douglas Hodlin of Hartford, Conn.; two stepsons, David Hennig of Southington, Conn., and William Hennig of Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Robert of North Tonowanda and Mrs. Effie Aubrey of Champlain; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held at the Della Vecchia Funeral Home in Southington, Conn.
 Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.

Ralph James Torelli
Herald, The (New Britain, CT) - Friday, August 2, 2013

  Ralph James Torelli, 95, of New Britain, Conn., passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Aurora Senior Living of New Britain. Ralph was born Dec. 23, 1917, and lived in New Britain his entire life. He was the son of the late James and Mary (Civitillo) Torelli. Ralph attended New Britain Schools and co-owned with his brother John, Torelli's Service Station in New Britain for 30 years. He served his country honorably from 1942 to 1946 in the Merchant Marines. Ralph also served in CC Camp in Oregon as a teenager. He was a member of the Jacklin Rod and Gun Club, Bristol, Conn., and Wolcott Landowners Association and was an avid trapshooter, often winning many trophies for his skill. Ralph was also an avid NFL fan and gardener and shared his produce with his family and friends.
 Ralph is survived his loving wife of 65 years, Katherine (Cherpak) Torelli; his son, Ralph Michael Torelli and his wife, Karen, of Kansas; his daughter, Kathleen (Torelli) Kopcha and her husband, Emil, of Southington, Conn.; his grandchildren, Brian Torelli, Lisa (Torelli) Behrns and her husband, Aaron of Kansas, Katherine, Carolyn and Christopher Kopcha and his wife, Christine, and soon to be great-grandson, Jack. Ralph was predeceased his two brothers, Frank and John Torelli and his sister, Ann (Torelli) Hodlin. The Torelli family extends a special note of thanks to Aurora Senior Living of New Britain for their compassionate care during his illness.
 Funeral rites for Ralph will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain. The American Flag will be presented to Ralph's son, Ralph. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
 Directions to funeral home: I-84 East or West — Exit 37 (Fienemann Road) right off exit — one mile down on right.
