Lena Hutchinson
 ELIZABETH - Mrs. Lena J. Hutchinson, 80, of Route 2, Elizabeth, peacefully passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 21, 2002, at Ravenswood Village, Ravenswood, after an extended illness.
 Mrs. Hutchinson was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Jarie and Mabel Fluharty Watkins.  She was a lifelong homemaker and retired as a store clerk and deli manager from Maze Cardinal Market, after more than five years service.  She and her husband were owners and operators of the Leachtown Grocery for more than 11 years, and she was a store clerk at the former Sims and George Grocery, Elizabeth.  She was a member of the Big Island Run Methodist Church, and enjoyed quilting and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
 She will be missed by three sons, Daniel Hutchinson of Parkersburg, Pastor Billy Hutchinson of Tioga, W.Va., and Ronald Hutchinson of Elizabeth; one brother, the Rev. Robert Watkins of Lubeck; one sister, Dorothy Somerville of Scott Depot, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Chester (Joe) Clair Hutchinson in 1982; two sons, Jerry Hutchinson in 1970, and the Rev. Charles (David) Hutchinson in 1993; and two brothers, Roger Watkins, and Harold Ernest Watkins.
 Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Southern Baptist Fellowship, Elizabeth, with her son, Pastor Billy Hutchinson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Watkins Family Cemetery, Elizabeth.  Friends may call form 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Busch Funeral Home.  The body will lie in repose one hour prior to services at the church.
 In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter, c/o Busch Funeral Home, P.O. Box 43, Elizabeth, WV 26143.

Deceased Name: Roy William Somerville
 Roy William Somerville of Scott Depot passed away on March 29, 2008, at the age of 84.
 He was re-tired from Union Carbide and a veteran of World War II as he served in the Navy. He liked to hunt and fish, garden and putter in his garage. He enjoyed visiting with the neighbors and watching the squirrels and birds in his yard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be sadly missed by all.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Edith and Civy Somerville; his sisters, Emma Lea Burdette, Freda Morehead, Wanda Mae Hartley; and two infant children, Kristy and Scotty.
He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Steve and Hilda Somerville of Buffalo, Keith and Dee Somerville of Hamlin, and his daughter and spouse, Lee Ann and J.B. Browning of Dunbar; sisters, Mary Helen Townsend of Elizabeth, Lenore Coartney of St. Mary's and brothers Paul and Donald "Jim" Somerville of Elizabeth. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.
 The family would also like to thank his at home caregivers of the last few years, Mary Bennett and Marsha Black for their attentive and loving care.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
 A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Southern Baptist Fellowship Church, Route 14, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Robert Watkins officiating. Friends may call one prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be in Watkins Family Cemetery, Elizabeth.

Deceased Name: Dorothy V. Somerville
 Dorothy Virginia Somerville, 83, of Scott Depot, passed away Oct. 13, 2007, after a long illness.
 She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all. Her children; grandchildren; nieces; and nephews will fondly remember her for all the special things she did for them, such as playing their favorite games and making their favorite foods.
 She was a member of Pine Twist Baptist Church, Elizabeth, and also attended the former Scott Depot Church of God.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Ott and Mabel Watkins; her brothers, Roger and Ernest Watkins; her sister, Lena Hutchinson; and two infant children, Kristy and Scotty.
 She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Somerville; her sons and their wives, Steve and Hilda Somerville of Buffalo, and Keith and Dee Somerville of Hamlin; her daughter and her husband, Lee Ann and J.B. Browning of Dunbar; and her brother, Robert Watkins of Parkersburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews, who all thought of her as their MaMaw.
 The service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Southern Baptist Fellowship Church, Route 14, Elizabeth, with her brother, the Rev. Robert Watkins, officiating. Burial will follow in the Watkins Cemetery, Elizabeth.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Rd., Hurricane, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Harold Ernest Watkins
  Harold Ernest Watkins, 75, of Rt. 2, Elizabeth, died Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2001 at his residence.
 He was born July 3, 1926 in Wirt County, a son of the late Jarie Ott and Mabel Fluharty Watkins.  He retired in 1989 from Johns Manville Corp. as a binder mixer with more than 43 years of service where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.  He was a member and trustee of Big Island Run Methodist Church and a lifelong Wirt County farmer.
 He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Bain Watkins, two sons, Gary Watkins and Jeff Watkins of Elizabeth; two daughters, Marsha Roberts and Jan Deem, both of Elizabeth; one brother, Pastor Robert Watkins of Parkersburg; two sisters, Lena Hutchinson of Elizabeth and Dorothy Somerville of Scott Depot; seven granddaughters and three great grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Javins in 1993 and one brother, Roger Watkins.
 Services were held Monday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at Busch Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Watkins and Pastor Tim Bell officiating.  Burial was in the Watkins Family Cemetery in Elizabeth.

  Roger E. Watkins, 56, of 2500 Lenore St., Parkersburg, W.Va., died Friday afternnon at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
 He was born in Wirt County, W.Va., a son of the late Jerry Ott and Mable Fluharty Watkins.  He had worked for Union Carbide Metals Co. for the past 33 years.
 He is survived by his wife, Phyllis N. Watkins; one son, Randy Watkins of Fleming, Ohio; three daughters, Rebecca Buskirk of Washington, Sherry Deem of Rockport, and Judy Sheppard of Slate, W.Va.; two brothers, Robert O. Watkins of Washington, and Harold Earnest Watkins of Elizabeth; two sisters; Lena Hutchinson of Elizabeth; and Dorothy Somerville of Scotts Depot, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
 Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery North.
 Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

OBITUARY:
 Phyllis N. Watkins, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Camden-Clark Medical Center.
 She was born January 11, 1929 in Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Clara Icenoggle Collins.
 Phyllis graduated from Wirt County High School, was a homemaker and enjoyed doing needlecraft.
 She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca (Ron) Ward of Parkersburg, Sherry (Larry) Deem of Rockport, W.Va., and Judy Sheppard also of Parkersburg; one son, Randy (Judy) Watkins of Belpre, Ohio; one sister, Bernice Jones of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren, Ben (Beth) Buskirk, Joanna Buskirk, Molly Ward, Michael (Melissa) Deem, Joseph (Jamie) Deem, Jason Cowan, Sarah (Jeremy) Benton, Noah Sheppard and Luke (Amber) Sheppard; and ten great-grandchildren.
 Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roger Watkins, who passed in 1985; three brothers; and four sisters.
 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor Robert Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M.
