OBITUARY:
Roy Ash
 Elizabeth - Roy Ash, 90, or Route 2, Elizabeth, died at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital Sunday morning following an extended illness.
 He was born in Wirt County, son of the late Thomas S. Ash and Alice Gray Ash.  He worked in the oil fields at an early age and until he retired in 1949, and he owned an general store from 1929 through 1976.
 He is survived by his wife, Charity Nutter Ash; three sons, Harold Ash, Paul Ash and Robert Ash; three daughters, Virginia Shears, Isabel Goodwin and Emogene Dennis, all of Elizabeth; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.
 Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pine Twist Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Joe Hutchinson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 Friends may call at the Mathey-Pomroy Funeral Home in Elizabeth after 2 p.m. today and at the church one hour prior to services.

Paul L. Ash

Paul L. Ash, 88, of Mid-Ohio Valley Health Care, formerly of Elizabeth, went to be with his Lord and
Savior on Jan. 23, 2006, from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wirt County, the son of the late Roy L. and Charity Ann Nutter Ash. He retired from Iron Workers Local 787 in 1979. He was a member of the Big Island Run Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher, superintendent and many other offices. He was a member of W.Va. Gospel Singing Organization of Mt. Nebo, where he served on the board of directors. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Junior OUAM 33 of Burning Springs.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Wanda Mae Lewis Ash; children, Paula (Russ) Cline and Mike Ash of Elizabeth; brother, Robert Ash of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sisters, Virginia Shears and Isabelle (Jim)
Goodwin of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Lisa (Jeffrey) Cline Kukura of Morgantown, W.Va., Rob Cline of Dayton, Ohio, Matthew (Denise) Ash of Lesage, W.Va., and Nathan Ash of Morgantown; and great-grandchildren, Carie, Madison, Bryce and Peyton Kukura.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Revs. Tim Bell and William Delmas Stutler officiating. Burial will be in the Nutter Cemetery of Wirt County. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Emogene L. ASH

OBITUARY:
 Emogene L. Dennis
 Emogene L. Dennis, 81, of Elizabeth, went to be with the Lord March 4, 2004, at her home after an extended illness.
 She was born Jan. 9, 1923 in Wirt County, the daughter of the late Roy and Charity Nutter Ash.  She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital in 1988 and attended Big Island Run United Methodist and Pine Twist Baptist churches.
 She is survived by three sons and their wives, rodney and Brenda Dennis of Belpre, Larry an dShauna Dennis of Elizbeth and Rick and Debbie Dennis of Elizabeth; four daughters and their husbands, Sue and Russ Cottrell, Sharon Cline, Karen Bell and the late Orley Bell all of Elizabeth  and Ronda and Charlie Ford of West Union; three brothers and their wives, Harold and Nellie Ash, Paul and Wanda Ash and the late Sue Ash of Gallipolis, OH; two sisters and their husbands, Virginia Shears and the late Barrett Shears and Isabelle and Jim Goodwin of Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Glatz.
 Services were held Saturday at Pine Twist Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Bell officiating.  Burial followed in Pine Twist Cemetery.
 Arrangements were entrusted to the Busch Kimes Funeral Home.

OBITUARY:
 Hammond N. "Newt" Dennis, 93, of Parkersburg, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
 He was a driller in the oil fields, having worked with W.C. Patterson Oil Co. He also worked for American Viscose. He was a Protestant.
 He is survived by one son, Denver Dennis of Elizabeth; one daughter, Beulah Fluharty of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Iva Pearl Dennis; a brother, James Dennis of Elizabeth; a brother, Ted Dennis of Ohio; and four sisters, Rose Douglas, Dorothy Mitchell, Carrie Lewis and Demaris Thompson.
 The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Roberts Cemetery, Ritchie County.

OBITUARY:
Daniel Aubrey Dies At 81 in Champlain
 Champlain - Daniel Aubrey, 81, died at his home in Champlain Saturday afternoon.
 He is survived by two sons, Edison and Clyde, both of Champlain; one daugther, Yvonne of Ogdensburg; one brother, Walter of Rouses Point; a sister, Mrs. Victor Bibeau of Oneonta; one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
 Mr. Aubrey worked for 45 years at Sheridan Iron Works where he was a machinist and electrician.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist organization.  He has lived in Champlain for the last 56 years.
 He was born in Rouses Point on Aug. 9, 1880, the son of Freeman Aubrey and Mary Vashrow.  He worked in the box factory in Rouses Point for many years before moving to Champlain.
 The body is at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.  Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Church Tuesday at 9 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

OBITUARY:
Mrs. Daniel Aubrey Dies At Champlain
 Mrs. Daniel Aubrey, of Champlain, died at her home at 4 P.M. on Monday of this week following a paralytic stroke suffered at 1 A.M. that morning.  She was 67 years old and had not ben in good health for several years, but her death was unexpected.
 Mrs. Aubrey was born in Champlain, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophia Major, and lived in that village all of her lifetime.  She is survived by her husband, her mother, two sons: Edison and Clyde, and one daughter, Yvonne, all of Champlain.  Also two sisters: Mrs. Eva Phaneuf Mrs. David Phaneuf, and two brothers, William Major, of Champlain and Joseph Major of Niagara Falls.
 Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Mary's R.C. Church, the Rev. ARthur Desroders, pastor, officiating at the requiem mass.  Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Daniel Aubrey Died At Champlain
 Mrs. Daniel Aubrey of Champlain died at her home June 6 after a long illness.  Her age was 67.  Mrs. Aubrey was born in Champlain the daughter of the late Joseph Major and Sophia Major and lived in Champlain all her life.
 She is survived by her husband, her mother, two sons, Edison and Clyde and one daughter, Yvonne, all of Champlain; also two sisters, Mrs. Eva Phaneuf and Mrs. David Phaneuf; two brothers, William Major of Champlain and Joseph Major of Niagara Falls.
 Funeral services were held June 9 from the St. Mary's Church in Champlain.
 Pallbearers were William Cootware, Wilfred Gamache, Girard Juneau, Andrew Blain, Clifford Duquette and Henry Boillard.

Margaret Dragoon Rites In Champlain
 Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret Dragoon were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.  Rev. James Shaw, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, Plattsburgh, officiated.
 Remains were place in the vault in Glenwood Cemetery.
 Mrs. Dragoon, widow of John Dragoon of Champlain, died Thursday at the age of 82.
 Mrs. Dragoon, the former Margaret Nichols, was a life-long resident of this area.  She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edison Aubrey of Champlain, Mrs. Arthur Robert of North Tonowanda, and Mrs. Joseph St. Andrew of Syracuse; two sons, Pliny Hodlin of Plainville, Conn., and Douglas Hodlin of Hartford, Conn.; also one brother, Warren Nichols of Temple, N.H.

Dropped Dead.
 Mr. Aubrey of Rouses Point, who had been working at the Sheridan Iron Works, Champlain, dropped dead near the Nye residence Friday evening.  He was on his way to his boarding house.  He was 56 years of age.

OBITUARY:
Mrs. Mary Aubrey Passes Away
 Mrs. Mary Vashreau Aubrey died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Victor Bibeau, 16 Washington street, Oneonta, Friday morning, following a long illness due to her advanced age.  She had never fully recovered from an attack of influenza twelve years ago.
 Mrs. Aubrey was born in St. Remi, Que., November 1, 1847.  In 1865 she was united with Freeman Aubrey, of Malone.  In 1887 they moved to Rouses Point.  Nine children were born to them, eight of whom are living.  Mr. Aubrey died 27 years ago and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Cassan, died five years ago.  The surviving children are Mrs. Bibeau, of Oneonta, with whom Mrs. Aubrey had made her home for the past sixteen years, Freeman, Henry, George and Walter, of Rouses Point, Daniel of Champlain, William of Detroit, and Mrs. Jerry Dwyer of Cohoes.  There are also 38 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ida LaRoe of Ticonderoga, left to mourn her loss.
 Mrs. Aubrey was very much devoted to her home and to her large family, and she will be keenly missed by them.  She was a faithful and devout member of the Roman Catholic Church.
 The funeral service was held in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Rouses Point, Monday morning with Rev. Father Cormerais officiating.  The bearers were her six sons; Freeman, Henry, Daniel, William, George and Walter.

Dwyer and Harold of Cohoes, Ernest Aubrey of Ogdensburg, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bibeau, Daniel and Katherina Bibeau, and Iva Bruce of Oneonta.  Interment will be made in the family plot at St. Patrick's cemetery.
