OBITUARY:
Lewis Fluharty
 Lewis Fluharty, age 83 years died at his home near Freeport, Ritchie County on Sunday September 15, of deseases incident to old age.
 The funeral was held at the Pine Twist Baptist Church on Tuesday September 17, at 12:00 o'clock.
 Rev. R. A. McMillion, officiating.
 Mr. Fluharty had lived a devoted christian life for fifty years and the ripe old age to which he lived is one of the best tributes of a clean life.

OBITUARY:
Mary FLUHARTY
 Mary E. Fluharty, wife of Lewis Fluharty, died at her home on Standing Stone October 1st after a lingering illness from ailments incidents to old age.
 The deceased was born August 1st, 1839, and was aged 76 years, and two months at the date of her death.
 Her maiden name was Mary E. Robinson and she was married to Lewis
Fluharty February 25th, 1860.  She was converted and joined the M. E. Church at the age of 12 years, and later in life she became a member of the Baptist Church, being baptised by Rev. R. A. McMillion, who also officiated at the funeral services, which were conducted from the Pine Twist Church on last Sunday, in the presence of a large number of her friends and relatives.
 The deceased is survived by her husband and nine children, as follows: Three sons, E. H. and J. W. of this county, and H. J. of Crooksville, Ohio, and six daughters, Mesdames Charity Bell, Nina Bell and Addie Foutty, of Elizabeth No. 2, Mrs. Emma Headly of Creston, Mrs. Lucy Howley of Newark, and Mrs. M. Mulvey of Parkersburg.  There are also 44 grand-children of the deceased now living.

OBITUARY:
DEATH ROLL
 Chas. W. Bush, aged 69, of Flint Run, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Fluharty, on Wilson Fork, on Sunday May 3.  Mr. Bush had been in his usual good health and death was entirely unexpected, and came as a great shock to his family and friends.
 He is survived by four daughters and one son.
 The funeral was held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. from the Pine Twist Baptist Church.
 Interment was made in the Pine Twist cemetery, W. M. Pomroy, Undertaker in charge.

OBITUARY:
Services Held Sunday For Ott Watkins
 Jarrie Ott Watkins, 63, Rt. 2, City, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, at his residence following a brief illness.
 Born March 31, 1895, in Wirt County, he was the son of the late John and Edie George Watkins.
 He was a member of the Big Island Run Baptist Church, and the Jr. O.U.A.M, Palestine Council No. 33.  He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of Wirt Post No. 55, The American Legion, City.
 Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mabel Fluharty Watkins; three sons, Roger Watkins, Parkersburg, Harold and Robert Watkins, both of Rt. 2, City; two daughters, Mrs. Lena Hutchinson, Rt. 2, City, and Mrs. Dorothy Somerville, Scott Depot, W. Va.; and 18 grandchildren.
 Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pine Twist Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Higgins and the Rev. Joe Snyder officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery where graveside rites were conducted by members of the Jr. O.U.A.M. Pomroy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  Mrs. Mabel Watkins, 66, of Rt. 2, City, died Saturday, December 21, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, following an extended illness.
 Born at Elizabeth July 8, 1902, she was a daughter of Mrs. Lena Bush Fluharty, Rt. 2, City, and the late J. W. Fluharty.  She was a member of the Big Island Run (Pine Twist) Baptist Church.
 Survivors in addition to her mother are: three sons, Ernest Watkins, Rt. 2, City, Roger and Robert Watkins, Parkersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Lena) Huchinson, Rt. 2, City, and Mrs. Roy W. (Dorothy) Somerville of Scott Depot, W. Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Delcie Dennis, Morango, O., Mrs. Nellie Ash and Mrs. Alda Copen, of near Elizabeth; five brothers, Dale Fluharty of Beaver Falls, Pa., George Fluharty, Weirton, Floyd and Paul Fluharty of Davisville, and Warren Fluharty of Parkersburg; 21 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry O. Watkins, and by a brother and a sister.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church near Elizabeth with the Rev. Paul Higgins and the Rev. Joe Snyder officiating, and interment was in the Big Island Run Baptist Cemetery, Rt. 2, City.  Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth was in charge of arrangement.

Floyd M. Fluharty -
 APPOMATTOX, Va. - Floyd M. Fluharty, 80, of Concord, Va., died March 11, 1993 at his residence.
 He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Jimmy and Lena Bush Fluharty.  He was retired from the Keen Corp.  He was a member of the Big Island Run Baptist Church and attended Thomas Terrace Baptist Church.
 Surviving are his wife, Luda Wilson Fluharty; one son, James Fluharty of Madison Heights, Va.; three daughters, Louise Pifer and Donna Arrington, both of Concord, Va. and Patty Dowler of Nelsonville, Ohio; two sisters, Alda Copen and Nellie Ash, both of Elizabeth; two brothers, Warren Fluharty and Paul Fluharty, both of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grand-children;
and one great-great-grand-daughter.
 Services 1 p.m. Saturday, Big Island Run Baptist Church, Elizabeth.  Burial church cemetery.
 Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday, Matheny-Pomroy Funeral Home, Elizabeth.

Obituary for Luda A. Fluharty - September, 2000
 Luda A. Fluharty, 83, of Coolville, Ohio, died Monday morning, September 11, at the Arbors Nursing Home of Marietta.
 She was born in Ritchie County, the daughter of the late William and Icy Deem Wilson.  She worked for 10 years at the Ohio Valley Nursing Home as nursing assistant.  She was a member of the Pine Twist Baptist Church.
 Surviving are three daughters, Louise Pifer of Parkersburg, Donna Arrington of Lynch, Va., Patty Dowler of Coolville, Ohio; a son, James Fluharty of Madison Heights, Va., a sister Daisy Umblebee of Davisville; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd (Dock) Fluharty, a daughter, Virginia and several grand-children.
 Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 14 at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home of Elizabeth with Rev. Dean Ash officiating.  Burial will be at the Pine Twist Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday eveing and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

 ASHLEY, Ohio -- Delcie G. Dennis, 70, of 865 County Road 24, Marengo, Ohio, formerly of Wirt County, died Friday night in the Marion (Ohio) Community Medical Center.
 She was born in Elizabeth and was a member of the Alum Creek Friends Church at Marengo.
 She is survived by two sons, Charles Dennis and John Dennis, both of Rural Route, Marengo; one daughter, Betty Alvey of Greenville, Ohio; five brothers, Dale Fluharty of Tuscon, Ariz., George Fluharty of Baltimore, Md., Paul Fluharty and Warren Fluharty, both of Parkersburg, and Floyd Fluharty of Elizabeth; two sisters, Nellie Ash and Alda Copen, both of Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Dennis.
 Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alum Creek Friends Church in Marengo, with the Rev. Dale Ruff officiating.  Burial will be in Alum Creek Cemetery.
 Friends may call at the Bennett-Brown Funeral Home in Ashley, Ohio, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, and at the church for an hour prior to the service.
