Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA - Mr. Lewis Stephen Richards Sr., ( 75y ) d: March 01, 1992 - of 31 Narragansett Ave. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield Jan. 3, 1917, the son of George M. and Ivy Hodlin Richards, he attended local schools. He served with the former Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1332nd Base Unit, Air Force Command, in China, India and Burma for 28 months. Mr. Richards had been employed by GE as a machinist and in plant protection for 37 years until he retired in 1979. He was a member of the local American Legion post, the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Pittsfield, Lanesboro Senior Club, Berkshire Community Action Council, Aurora Club of Dalton, Quality Time Club and the GE Quarter - Century and Pensioners clubs. He was also a member and past patron of Collina chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; a member and past master of Myslic Lodge of Masons, and a driver for Elder Services. He leaves his wife, the former Mary E. Gosling, whom he married Oct. 8, 1946; a son, L. Stephen Richards of Lanesboro, and a sister, Mrs. Marion Senger of Arlington, Tenn.

Lanesboro, Berkshire Co., MA - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Gosling) Richards, ( 73y ) d: February 13, 1994 - of 31 Narragansett Ave. died Sunday at her home. Born in Sandwich on Sept. 1, 1920, daughter of George W. and Elizabeth King Gosling, she came to Pittsfield at an early age and graduared from Pittsfield High School. She had been a resident of Pittsfield until 1946, when she married and moved to Lanesboro. Mrs. Richards had been employed by the GE screw machine department from 1941 to 1950. She also worked part time in the office of Dr. Charles L. Baver for many years. She had served on the Lanesboro Council on Aging, was a volunteer for Elder Services and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Club. In Pittsfield, she was a member of Hillcrest Hospital Auxiliary for many years and a former member of Collina chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Lewis S. Richards, whom she married Oct. 8, 1946, died March 1, 1992. She leaves a son, L. Stephen Richards of Lanesboro, with whom she resided, and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Leonard of Westfield.
