Edison Aubrey
 Champlain - Edison Aubrey, 70, died at his home here early Friday morning.
 Mr. Aubrey was born here on June 4, 1906, the son of Daniel and Ella (Major) Aubrey.
 He was a machinist for Sheridan Ironworks for 50 years.
 He leaves his wife, Effie Hodlin Aubrey; a son, George Aubrey of Peru; a brother, Clyde Aubrey of Champlain, and two grandchildren.
 Calling hours at the Clark Funeral Home here will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
 Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m., at the funeral home.  The Rev. David Grosse will officiate.
 Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery here.

OBITUARY:
 CHAMPLAIN — Effie A. Aubrey, 97, formerly of Champlain, N.Y., passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
 She was born in Worcester, Mass., Jan. 10, 1912, the daughter of Orville D. and Margurite (Nichols) Hodlin; and moved to Champlain with her family in 1926.
  Her parents predeceased her. She married Edison Aubrey, who predeceased her in 1976.
  Mrs. Aubrey was a cook at Champlain Central School for many years. During World War II, she was an Army Air Force Observer with the Office of Civilian Defense. Mrs. Aubrey enjoyed people, travel, cooking, baking and did catering in the Champlain area for various events. She was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh.
 Survivors include one son, George C. Aubrey and his wife, Mary, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two grandsons, Steve Aubrey and his wife, Bettie, of Milford, Ohio, and Mark Aubrey and his wife, Angie, of Seymour, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Edison Aubrey and Caroline Aubrey of Seymour, Tenn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
 In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Aubrey was predeceased by four brothers, Douglas Hodlin, Pliny Hodlin, Orville Hodlin and an infant brother; three sisters, Ethel Ellis, Marion St. Andrew and Kathryn Robert.
 Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
  Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery on Oak Street in Champlain this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Scholarship Fund, 187 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901 or Champlain Memorial Library, P.O. Box 279, Champlain, NY 12919.

Long-time Arizona resident
 Dale R. Fluharty, 85, of Sierra Vista died Wednesday, March 3, 1993 at the Sierra Vista Care Center.
 Fluharty was born Oct 8, 1907 in Elizabeth, W.V. to James and Lena (Bush) Fluharty.  After moving to New Brighton, Penn., in 1941, he was employed by Koppers in Kobuta, Penn., for many years.  He retired to Tucson in 1971, and move to Sierra Vista in 1992.  He married Mildred Clara Joy, May 12, 1933, who preceded him in deat in May 1985.  He was a member of the Sierra Vista First Church of the Nazarene, and participated in a number of mission projects throughout the state.
 He is survived by two daughters, Mary (George) Aubrey of Sierra Vista and Shirley (James) Robinson of Waterloo, N.Y.; two sons, Gary (Bobbie) Fluharty of Portland, Me., and Larry (Chris) Fluharty of Sierra Vista; daughter-in-law, Lillian (Leonard) Fluharty of Beaver Penn.; three brothers, Floyd (Luda) Fluharty of Concord, Va., Paul (Thelma) of [sic] Fluharty of Walker, W.V., and Warren (Beulah) Fluharty of Parkersburg, W.V.; two sisters, Alda Copen and Nellie (Harold) Ash, both of Elizabeth, W.V.; eight grandchildren; and two great grand children.
 Memorial services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene Sierra Vista with the Rev. Joe Watkins, III officiating.  Receiving time will follow the service in the church's Family Life Center.  Interment is in the Evergreen Cemetery, Tucson.
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sierra Vista First Church of the Nazarene or the Alzheimer's Assoc., 70 East Lake Street, Chicago, Ill.  60601-9971.
 Arrangements are by the Hatfield Funeral Home, Sierra Vista.

 Fluharty, Mildred C., 72, died Sunday, May 19, 1985.  Survived by husband, Dale Fluharty of Tucson; daughters, Mary Aubrey of Sierra Vista, AZ and Shirley Robinson of Waterloo, NY; sons, Gary Fluharty of Sierra Vista, AZ and Larry Fluharty of Wedgefield, SC; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Leona, Myrtle, Ella and Ina; four brothers, George, Thomas, Arthur and Cecil, all living in other states.  Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the First Church of the Nazarene (1333 E. 10th St.), with the Reverend  B. Edwin McDonald and Reverend James F. Cullember officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Arizona Mortuary, 7 E. University Blvd., from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.  Rememberences may be made to a memorial fund at the First Church of the Nazarene.

 A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mrs. Val Hammond, Friday, May 12, when Miss Mildred Joy of Flint Run became the bride of Dale Fluharty of Wierton, W. Va.  Rev. A. F. Monroe performed the ceremony.
 The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joy of Flint Run and Mr. Fluharty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fluharty of Wilson Fork.  The young couple will reside in Wierton where the bridegroom has employment.

 Donald Lewis Fluharty son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fluharty was born March 17, 1934, departed this life Nov. 11, 1934, aged 7 months, 25 days.  He leaves to mourn their loss father and mother, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joy, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Fluharty, and a number of aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends.  Funeral was conducted from Pine Twist Church at 2 p.m. Nov 13 by Rev. A. F. Monroe.  Interment in church cemetery with undertaker Pomroy in charge.

James William FLUHARTY - 1965
 James W. Fluharty, 91, of Route 2, City, died at his home Tuesday morning following a long illness.  He had been a patient in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, for a few days, but had seemed to be well improved and was returned home last weekend at his request.
 Popularly known to a host of friends as "Uncle Jimmie" Fluharty, he was a member of the Big Island Run Baptist Church.  He was a retired farmer.
 He was born December 30, 1874, in Wirt County, a son of the late Lewis and Mary Robinson Fluharty.
 Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Lena Bush Fluharty; five sons, Dale Fluharty of Beaver Falls, Pa., George Fluharty of Weirton, Floyd Fluharty, Rt. 2, City, Warren Fluharty, Parkersburg, and Paul Fluharty, of Davisville; and four daughters, Mrs. Ott Watkins, Rt. 2, City, Mrs. Ted Dennis, Marengo, O., Mrs. Dale Copen, Rt. 4, City, and Mrs. Harold Ash, Rt. 2, City.
 Mr. Fluharty is also survived by 36 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by two children, two brothers and six sisters.
 Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Big Island Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Hutchinson officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
 Friends may call at the Pomroy Funeral Home, City, until the noon hour Friday.

 Mrs. Lena Blanch Fluharty, 89, of Elizabeth, Rt. 2, died at 2:15 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dale Copen of Rt. 2, Elizabeth.
 She was born in Ritchie County August 31, 1882, daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Snyder Bush.  She was a member of the Big Island Run Baptist Church.
 She is survived by five sons, Dale Fluharty of Tucson, Ariz., George Fluharty of Weirton, W. Va., Floyd Fluharty of Davisville, W. Va., Warren Fluharty of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Paul Fluharty of Walker, W. Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Delcie Dennis of Marengo, Ohio, Mrs. Alda copen and Mrs. Nellie Ash of Rt. 2, Elizabeth; one brother, Francis M. Bush of Mt. Morris, Mich.; 34 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Fluharty in 1965 and by one son and two daughters.
 Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 16 at 2 p.m. at the Big Island Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Hutchinson officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery.  The Pomroy Funeral Home is in charge of the the arragements.
 Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Charles Dennis, Roger Dale Fluharty, Lynn Fluharty, Gilbert Ash, Donald Copen and James Fluharty.

Floyd JOY
August 1979
 Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Franklin & Son Memorial Chapel, Parkersburg, for Floyd Edwin Joy, aged 91, of Rt. 2, Elizabeth, who had resided the last year or two at Rt. 2, Parkersburg.  Mr. Joy passed away Friday evening, August 24, in the Parkview Health Care Center, Parkersburg, after an illness of several months.
 The Rev. Dean Ash officiated at the Tuesday service.  Viewing, followed by a brief service, was conducted at noon that day at the Pine Twist Baptist Church in Wirt County.  Interment was in the Pine Twist Cemetery.
 He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late George and Olive Shahn Joy. He was retired from oil field work with 30 years service, and as a farmer.   He was a long-time active Clay District Committeeman on the Wirt County Democratic Executive Committee, was an accomplished horseman, and loved hunting and the out-of-doors.  Floyd always had a ready smile and words of encouragement for his fellowmen.  He was a member of the Big Island Run Methodist Church in Wirt County.
 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cynthia Bishop Joy; four sons, Arthur Joy, of Parkersburg, Thomas Joy of Tampa, Fla., Cecil Joy of New England, and George Joy of Newton; five daughters, Mrs. Leona Wells, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Mildred Fluharty, of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Myrtle Younglove, of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Ella Nutter, of Culloden, and Mrs. Ina Harmsworth, of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Deem and Mrs. Ethel Deem, both of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Goldie Null, of Davisville; 49 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

 Mrs. Cynthia Bishop Joy, age 90, of Route 2, Parkersburg, former long-time popular reisdent of Route 2, Elizabeth, died at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital Wednesday, November 26, 1980, following a lengthy illness.  She leaves a family of 136 descendants.
 She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of the late Will and Rosella Haze Bishop.
 Mrs. Joy was a very cheerful and good woman, was highly regarded and a good neighbor to everyone when she resided for many years in the Flint Run section of Clay District, Wirt County.  She was a frequent contributor of news items to the Journal during her local residency.  She was a member of the Big Island Run Methodist Church.
 She is survived by four sons, George Joy, of Newton, Thomas Joy of Tampa, Fla., Arthur Joy of Parkersburg, and Cecil Joy of New England; five daughters, Leona Wells of Parkersburg, Mildred Fluharty of Tucson, Ariz., Myrtle Younglove of Tampa, Fla., Ina Harmsworth of Orlando, Fla., and Roselle Nutter of Culloden; 42 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
