James Knoles was the son of Nancy Scott (1808-1849) and Burton Knoles (1803-1887). Both parents were born in Georgia and died in Menard County, Illinois.He married Hannah M. Pantier (1833-1879) on November 16, 1852 in Menard County, Illinois.

OBITUARY:
Joseph W. Fisher was born the son of Thomas and Sarah E. Fisher on January 9, 1875 in Owensville, Indiana. He came to Kansas at the age of two years and settled in Virgil, Kansas at about six years of age. He had resided there since his parents and only brother preceded him in death.
On February 17, 1909, he was united in marriage to Jessie Northup of Coyville, Kansas. Five children were born to this union. Two children preceded him in death, Kenneth, who died in infancy, and Hollis, who passed away at age 22 leaving his wife, Jessie and three children.
Other children who survive are Mrs. Pauline Trubshaw, of Emporia, Mrs. Dorothy Kimbell, of Virgil, and Gerald Fisher of El Dorado, Kansas; also four grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends survive to mourn his passing.

OBITUARY:
Jessie Lulu Fisher was born on February 18, 1889 at Tecumseh Nebraska to T.B. Northrup and Elizabeth Fanning Northrup. She was one of seven children, three of whom survive: a sister Mrs. Grace Taylor, of Chanute and two brothers, Floyd Northrup of Oklahoma City and Earl Northrup of Neodesha.
Mrs. Fisher passed away Thursday, June 11, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, after a long illness.
She was united in marriage to Joseph W. Fisher on February 17, 1909 in Fredonia. To this union were born five children, Pauline, Hollis, Dorothy, Kenneth and Gerald. She was preceded in death by two children, Kenneth in 1915 and Hollis Russell in 1933, and by her husband, Joseph, in 1956.
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher had made their home in Virgil, where she had resided for nearly 55 years.
She is survived by three children, Pauline Trubshaw, Eureka; Dorothy Kimbell, Emporia; and Gerald Fisher, El Dorado; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Virgil Methodist Church on Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Wayne Reynolds was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in the Virgil Cemetery."
