Thyra M. Mauck

  OWENSVILLE - Thyra M. Mauck, 92, of Owensville died at 2:05 a.m. Monday at Gibson General Hospital.
 She was born on August 19, 1907 in Montgomery Township.
 She retired as a school teacher from Owensville School after teaching 40 years. She graduated from Owensville High School in 1925, went to De Pauw University, Blaker's Teacher's College of Indiana and graduated from Oakland City College with a bachelor's degree in education.
 She was a member of Owensville United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star, Gibson County and Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary of Mt. Carmel, Ill., American Legion Auxiliary of Owensville, Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Lady Elks.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron O. and Ora E. (Knowles) Marvel; her husband, Clare Jack Mauck in 1980 and a son, Jack who died in 1985.
 There are no immediate survivors.
 Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery.  Pastor Sharon Elliott-Fox and Rev. Leonard Wood will officiate.
 Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
 Memorial contributions may be made to the Owensville United Methodist Church or the Indiana United Methodist Children's Home.
 Thyra is interred at the Owensville Cemetery.
