Lavina Rogers

BIOGRAPHY:
Had eight children, born in Kent Co., Delaware and Greene Co., Georgia.  The family moved from Georgia to Indiana, ca. 1809.  Died between 1850 and 1855 according to Marvel photocopy.  Possible location of marriage is Delaware.

OBITUARY:
Mrs. Susan Knowles, wife of Asa Knowles, died at the home of her son-in-law, Richard Osborn, about two miles north of Quincy, Friday night.She was 64 years and 7 months old. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday by Rev. W. S. Howell of Virgil, interment was made in Virgil cemetery. Mrs. Talbot of this city, a step daughter of the deceased, attended the funeral.

Susan L. Knowles was born July 22, 1833 Gibson County Indiana and died near Virgil, Kansas February 20, 1897, age 63 years, 6 months and 28 days old. She leaves a husband, 3 sons and 4 daughters. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.S. Howell from the home of J. R. Osborn February 21 The body was laid to rest in the Virgil Cemetery.

Thomas Fisher

MILITARY:
Soldier in the 24th Regiment Indiana Volunteers.  He was severly wounded.

OBITUARY:
Thomas S. Fisher died at his home in Virgil, Kansas March 22, 1892. Born in Posey County Indiana May 10, 1834. Age of 57 years 10 months and 19 days. 1864 he married Sarah E. Knowles to whom was born 2 sons, lost one in 77. Interred in the Virgil Cemetery.

Sarah E. Knowles

OBITUARY:
 Sarah Knowles Fisher was born Dec. 3, 1832 at Owensville, Gibson Co., Indiana, and died at Virgil, Kansas, Feb. 5, 1925, age 92 years, 2 months and 2 days.
 She was married to Thomas S. Fisher, Feb. 4, 1868. Mr. Fisher died March 22, 1892 age 58. To this union two children were born: Albert Fisher who died in 1883, age 16 years and Joseph W. Fisher of Virgil who survives.
 Mrs. Fisher came to Kansas in 1877, locating six miles west of Toronto.
  Years she had been a member of the Presbyterian Church.
 Since the death of her husband she had made her home later moving to Virgil. For many years whe lived with her son Joseph W. Fisher.
 Beside Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fisher and their children, Pauline, Hollie, Dorothy and Gerald, she is survived by 2 sisters, on half brother. Many friends join with these in her loss.
 The funeral service was held at the M.E. Church, Friday afternoon, the Rev. A.H. Tebben officiating and interment was made in Virgil Cemetery.
