OBITUARY:
BURTON KNOLES DIED
At the residence of Joseph W. Estill, near Curtis, this county, Feb. 23d, Burton Knoles, of paralysis, aged 84 years. Mr. Knoles was born in the State of Georgia in 1803, where he resided with his parents until they moved to Gibson county in the State of Indiana at an early day. He resided in that State about forty years, when he came to Menard county some thirty-seven years ago. Deceased was married when quite young to Nancy Scott, who died about thirty-eight years ago. He left surviving a large circle of relatives.  He was a devout Christian, having lived in the faith for seventy years, and for sixty years was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church.  For some few years he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Jos. W. Estill.  His death was sudden, having taken sick on the 17th and died on the 23d.  The funeral services were held at Lebanon church at 1 o'clock Thursday, Rev. R. D. Miller officiating.
